Leah Hausman

Movement Director

Leah Hausman works internationally as a Choreographer, Movement Director and Associate Director. She trained in dance and drama in New York City, and at the École Jacques Lecoq in Paris.

Theatre work includes: Into The Woods (Co-Director with Terry Gilliam) for Bath Theatre Royal, Fortune’s Fool for The Old Vic, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, Pedro the Magnificent and As You Like It for the RSC, The Game of Love and Chance for the National Theatre, Twelfth Night for the Goodman Theatre, Chicago, The Lamentations of Thel and The Phantom Violin for Theatre de Complicité, and Howard Goodall’s Great Dates for Channel 4 TV.

Opera work co-directed with Terry Gilliam include: Benvenuto Cellini for ENO, Opera Nationale de Paris, Dutch National Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu and Rome Opera and The Damnation of Faust for ENO, Staatsoper Berlin, De Vlaamse Opera and Teatro Massimo Palermo.

Work as Associate Director and Movement director with Simon McBurney include: Wozzeck for Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Weimar Republic/Nightfall for LA Phil Orchestra and The Rake's Progress for Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Dutch National Opera Stanislavsky Theatre, Moscow. She has also worked as an Associate Director, Movement Director and Revival Director at The Royal Opera House, ENO, The Metropolitan Opera, New York, Glyndebourne Opera, San Francisco Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, La Scala, Dutch National Opera, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Opera Nationale De Paris, Wiener Staatsoper, Berlin Staatsoper, Salzburg Festival, Opera di Roma, Palermo Opera, National Theatre, Tokyo and Scottish Opera.
